The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Anthony Angello on an emergency basis from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League
The Penguins announced the move Tuesday afternoon in advance of their game against the Ottawa Senators at PPG Paints Arena at 7:00 p.m.
Anthony Angello has played in seven games with the Pittsburgh Penguins this season. He scored his first career NHL goal on February 18th vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In the AHL this season, Angello has 25 points in 48 games with his 16 goals.
To this point, it is unclear if the recall is being done due to an injury elsewhere in the roster.
Yesterday, Penguins forward Dominik Simon was listed as week-to-week after leaving the game early against the Sharks over the weekend.
Elsewhere in the lineup, Penguins defensemen John Marino and Brian Dumoulin are poised to return to the lineup soon. It’s unsure if either or both will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Senators.
