After joining the Penguins on a professional tryout, it seems Brian Boyle is likely to officially sign with the team tomorrow.
The news of Boyle’s likely signing was reported Monday by Pierre Lebrun.

Boyle, now 36-years-old, did not play in the NHL last season, but in the 2019-20 season, he scored 15 points in 39 games for the Florida Panthers.
The 6’6” forward would give the Penguins some much-needed center depth, even if in the short term while both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin recover from their respective injuries.
Expected terms of Boyle’s contract with the Penguins haven’t been reported, but one would imagine that it’s likely a 1-year-deal only at a very low cost, perhaps even at league minimum.
The Penguins will kick off the NHL season tomorrow night when they travel to Tampa Bay to take on the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Lightning.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
