NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins at Tampa Bay Lightning Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Now we’re cooking with gas. After the pomp and ceremony of the first game of the season against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Pittsburgh Penguins have since played three more contests since last week’s podcast. Time to jump to conclusions!

Currently, Pittsburgh sits at a 2-0-2 record, grabbing six out of possible eight points without the services of both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Had you told me that before the season started, I’m not sure I would have believed you.

But one of the driving forces behind the Penguins’ solid start? Goaltender Tristan Jarry.

Jarry owns a 2-0-1 record, a .935 save percentage, and 1.62 goals against average. Robbie and I go on to discuss Jarry’s impressive start and whether or not he can keep this kind of play up when it matters most.

The mailbag is loaded with six questions. We’re answering your questions about trades involving injured players, Lange-isms, and much more.

Enjoy this week’s episode and, as always, thank you for listening!
