Penguins coach Mike Sullivan provided an update on the injury status of Jason Zucker — and it wasn’t a good one.

After being sent back to Pittsburgh after falling victim to an awkward injury on Tuesday night, Sullivan said Thursday afternoon that Zucker will be out of the lineup on a longer-term basis with an undisclosed lower body injury.
Hoping for the best for Jason Zucker. He was injured on an awkward play at the boards, he was helped off pic.twitter.com/F5XX8HHSHq— CJ Fogler #BlackLivesMatter (@cjzero) February 24, 2021
Given the fact that he needed to be helped off of the ice and was sent back to Pittsburgh, this time frame doesn’t exactly come as a surprise to me.
What “longer-term” means could be a number of things. We could be talking a few weeks or longer.
Sullivan also provided an update on Jared McCann. McCann will not play against the Capitals tonight, but he is back to full contact level in practice.
