Tonight, the Penguins and Bruins will face-off beginning at 7:00 PM and you can catch all the action on AT&T Sports Network.

Begin another week with Pens Points...

The clock weren’t the only thing jumping forward this weekend. With a clean sweep of all four games on their schedule, the Penguins made a big leap in the Eastern Division standings. They now sit in third place with a cushion between them and the playoff bubble. [Pensburgh]

People meet and fall in love in all sorts of different ways, and the parents of Penguins defenseman Chad Ruhwedel have one of the more unique stories. Both of Ruhwedel’s parents are avid skydivers and met on a landing pad after a jump. [Penguins]

It’s no coincidence the Penguins recent surge of good play has coincided with the return of defenseman Brian Dumoulin. Since Dumoulin returned from injury, there has been noticeably better play from the blue line and his partner Kris Letang. [Trib Live]

After being bought out by the Penguins in the offseason, Jack Johnson latched on with the New York Rangers on a one year deal. That union now seems to have fizzled as the Rangers placed the much maligned defenseman on waivers Sunday. [Trib Live]

For Katerina Wu, the newest members of the Penguins hockey analytics team, working in the sport was a dream she has now realized. Her passion for the game, and analytics, came from an opportunity in college that led her to Pittsburgh. [Pittsburgh Post-Gazette]

There was one mission for the Penguins to accomplish in Buffalo, and that was to take all four points against the Sabres. They completed that task and placed themselves in an excellent position for a playoff berth. [Pittsburgh Post-Gazette]

Teaming up with local health provider UPMC, the Penguins announced they will be holding a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at PPG Paints Arena today. This clinic is expected to be the first of many that the Penguins will host in the coming weeks. [Pittsburgh Post-Gazette]

News and notes from around the NHL...

Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Noah Dobson of the New York Islanders have been added to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocols. Neither player was in the lineup on Sunday but their addition to the list was not made official until after the game. [Sportsnet]

As for the rest of the league, it seems teams have mostly either avoided a bad COVID outbreak to this point or have any issues under control. Perhaps the new guidelines are working as only six players are currently in protocol. [TSN]
