While last night’s win over the Rangers may have offered some things to celebrate, it wasn’t all good news, as the Penguins are yet again facing a player dealing with an injury.

After missing the third period of the game, Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan provided an update on Jared McCann, saying “ “Jared is being evaluated for an upper-body injury... He’s playing really well for us. He’s got good offensive instincts. It’s discouraging to see him go down with an injury. Hopefully it won’t be too long and we get some positive news.”

McCann has found his scoring touch lately, with five points in his last six games, including three goals, one of which was the game-winning goal against the Flyers over the weekend.

For both McCann’s sake and the team’s sake, hopefully this upper-body injury will not be on the longer-term end of things and McCann can soon return to the lineup.
