The 2021 NHL trade deadline is in the books. The Pittsburgh Penguins did add to their often injury-plagued squad, acquiring longtime Los Angeles Kings forward Jeff Carter, a familiar face for GM Ron Hextall.

While the Penguins added a new piece to their group, so too did the other teams throughout the difficult East Division.

The PensBurgh Podcast is here this week to recap the trade deadline and to see where the Pens stand with 13 games to go before the playoffs begin.

This week’s mailbag segment sees Robbie and I touch on some of the Penguins’ biggest rivals over the years, wondering what former GM Jim Rutherford would have done differently, and figuring out who would win a battle royal. It got personal.
