Following last night’s 8-4 loss at the hands of the New York Rangers, the Penguins got a good bit of news regarding the status of forward Evgeni Malkin.

Mike Sullivan provided the latest update on Malkin as well as several others on Wednesday.

Sullivan said that Malkin has skated for the first time since being injured.

Getting Malkin back in the lineup would be a boost to the team right now, as he has missed the last 10 games.

In addition to an update on Malkin, Sullivan provided updates on a few other players.

Sullivan added that John Marino did NOT skate on Wednesday, but that it was just a maintenance day.

Lastly, on the status of Teddy Blueger, Sullivan said that he skated in full capacity and took contact, but has not yet been cleared to play.

The Penguins will take the ice against the Rangers again tomorrow night, looking for a better result.
