After missing the end of the regular season and the beginning of the postseason with an undisclosed injury, Penguins center Evgeni Malkin had surgery on Friday.

The Penguins announced Friday night that Malkin had surgery on his right knee.

Prior to the postseason, Malkin was sidelined after being injured on March 16th in a game against the Bruins.

The team announced that Malkin is not expected to be available when the team starts training camp in September.
