Evan Rodrigues will be suiting up in the black and gold in Pittsburgh for another season.
According to Darren Dreger, the 28-year-old winger will be signing a 1-year, $1 million contract with the Penguins.

Rodrigues was initially acquired by the Penguins in February of 2020 when the team traded Dominik Kahun to the Sabres. Rodrigues was then dealt to Toronto later that year when the Penguins acquired Kasperi Kapanen. At the end of the 2019-20 season, Rodrigues became a free agent, eventually signing with the Penguins again on a 1-year deal worth $700,000.
In 42 games with the Penguins across two seasons, Rodrigues has registered 7 goals and 8 assists, with all 7 goals coming in last season’s campaign.
Coming in at a $1 million cap hit will be the kind of depth the Penguins will need to sign at low cost, given they don’t have a ton of cap space to sign free agents, particularly if the team is looking at add goaltending talent as well.
