This list includes 12 players out of our Pensburgh Top 25 Under 25 from this summer.
NCAA players are enrolled in school, but we will be seeing some Canadian junior players lke Lukas Svejkovsky and Raivis Ansons get their first looks at Pittsburgh, and vice versa, since these players drafted in 2020 never got the chance for earlier action due to the pandemic. The same goes for 2021 draftee Isaac Belliveau.
This will also be the first good look at new professionals in goalie Filip Lindberg and forward Valtteri Puustinen, as well as the kick off points for the heralded and highly-anticipated Sam Poulin and Nathan Legare.
Typically the Pens have sent these prospects up to Buffalo to compete in games in a short tournament against the Sabres, Devils and Bruins prospects, but the Pens have chosen not to do that this September. Instead, they’ll stay at the Pens’ practice facility in Cranberry and just get some time working on skills and practices instead of scrimmages.
