New Coach / Off-Season Player Search ....

So, I mentioned in a prior comment that I know how we've all got our pitch-forks and torches ready to uh... not see Todd Rierden on the Penguins bench next season. And, I know most folks in that same mob would then go after Mike Sullivan's job. After that, you're probably looking at a choice between the relatively new GM in Kyle Dubas, or the players which you probably consider to flat-out old. Eyes on anyone over the age of 30, without the last name Crosby. But... Lend me your ears a moment.

Who's going to be that new head coach? No sense in getting rid of a guy that's won Stanley Cups if you don't believe there's a better replacement available, right? I think Sullivan at least deserves that much respect. Say what you want about first round exits and winning those Cups nearly a decade ago now. Face it, Penguins fans are spoiled friggin' rotten. But, I digress. Here's a quick glance at some candidates for new head coach if that's really the route we want to take.

Take note, anyone on that list would be a head coach for the first time. I'm certain that there are at least a couple of other worthy candidates WITH some NHL head coaching experience. This was just the first list that I found. With that said, two names that I'm interested in....

1. Mike Velluci (Penguins PK coach)

2. Joel Ward (Golden Knights assistant / former Mr. Clutch in Playoffs)

Further reading for those interested in the topic, here's a quick glance of availables from May, 2023. I believe quick a few of the selections are still available, and for good reason. But, for the sake of research, here we are....

Yet another ugly link. My apologies. Anyway...

That's all from me. Leave your thoughts in the comments because I'm not too inspired by any of the names that I found. Don't forget to 'like,' share, and do all that other weird stuff that people do these days. No, really, do it.
